Senior Software Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Consultant to join our technology consulting team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled software professional to deliver innovative technology solutions that help clients modernize applications, improve operational efficiency, and achieve their digital transformation goals.

As a Senior Software Consultant, you will work closely with clients, business stakeholders, solution architects, and engineering teams to understand business requirements, design technical solutions, and oversee successful software implementation projects. You will provide strategic technical guidance, lead development initiatives, mentor engineering teams, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices.

The successful candidate will possess strong software engineering expertise, consulting experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build trusted client relationships while delivering high-quality technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead software consulting engagements from discovery through solution design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Gather and analyse business requirements to recommend scalable and cost-effective software solutions.
  • Design enterprise application architectures that align with client objectives and technology strategies.
  • Develop, review, and maintain high-quality software applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Provide technical leadership to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Conduct technical workshops, solution demonstrations, and client presentations.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, project managers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams.
  • Support cloud migration, application modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications where required.
  • Review application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability to ensure optimal solution delivery.
  • Mentor junior developers and consultants while promoting engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, implementation plans, and client deliverables.
  • Identify project risks, technical challenges, and mitigation strategies throughout delivery.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative software solutions that deliver measurable business value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Significant experience in software development, software consulting, solution engineering, or enterprise application delivery.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar modern programming languages.
  • Experience designing and developing enterprise applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software architecture, design patterns, and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or GitLab.
  • Strong analytical, consulting, stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements while delivering projects within agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified, AWS Certified, Azure Developer Associate, TOGAF, Scrum Master, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
