Senior Software Engineer IV / V (Java, React, AWS)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Level IV or Level V Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help architect, build, and scale cloud-native enterprise applications. You'll work on complex distributed systems serving the automotive industry, collaborating closely with product managers, architects, and fellow engineers to deliver highly available, secure, and scalable software.

This is a hands-on senior engineering position for someone who enjoys solving difficult technical problems, mentoring other developers, and influencing architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications using the Spring Framework.
• Build and maintain scalable microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Develop modern web applications using React.
• Design and optimize MySQL databases, including multi-tenant data architectures.
• Build cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to complex business domains.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience (Level IV) or 10+ years (Level V).
• Expert-level Java development experience.
• Strong experience with the Spring ecosystem:
• Spring Boot
• Spring MVC
• Spring Security
• Spring Data JPA
• Spring Cloud
• Strong React development experience.
• Advanced SQL and MySQL database design experience.
• Experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
• Experience building applications on AWS.
• Experience implementing multi-tenant applications and database strategies.
• Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Experience with REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience with Git and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with event-driven architectures.
• Experience with messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or SQS.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (CloudFormation or Terraform).
• Experience with observability tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, or Prometheus.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Experience in automotive, SaaS, or enterprise software.
