About the Role

We're looking for a highly skilled Software Development Engineer with strong Java development expertise and hands-on experience in application security. This role is ideal for someone passionate about secure coding, vulnerability remediation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade applications.

You will lead application security scanning efforts, analyze vulnerabilities, implement code fixes, and work closely with Development and Security teams to strengthen the organization's security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute application vulnerability scans using Sonatype, Fortify, and WebInspect.
• Analyze scan results and remediate security vulnerabilities through Java code changes.
• Partner with Security and Development teams to prioritize and resolve application security issues.
• Create, manage, and track remediation tasks using Azure DevOps (AZDO) or similar Agile tools.
• Support multiple application teams with vulnerability analysis and remediation guidance.
• Develop, enhance, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
• Perform unit testing and ensure secure, high-quality code delivery.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Support production applications while contributing to new feature development.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on Java development experience.
• Experience with application security scanning tools:
• Sonatype
• Fortify
• WebInspect
• Experience reviewing vulnerability reports and implementing secure code fixes.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps (AZDO) or similar Agile ticketing systems.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and OWASP security principles.
• Experience with unit testing and SDLC best practices.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale Java applications.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with application vulnerability management and secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC).
