Software Engineer - Intermediate

Hybrid: from our office at Amsterdam Central Station and from home

Total Salary: between EUR 54,000 and EUR 64,000 (before taxes, including allowances plus excellent secondary benefits - see below)

Full-time: based on 37.5 hours per week (working part-time is possible)

Important: You should be living in the Netherlands as we are not relocating for this position

At the RIPE NCC, we develop software that helps power the core of the Internet. Want to build technology that has a real-world impact on millions of users every day? As a Software Engineer, you'll join a diverse and talented team working on systems that keep the Internet running.

You'll develop software that enables our members—including ISPs, governments, universities and other organisations—to manage their Internet number resources (IP addresses and ASNs). You'll also build applications that support our internal teams and contribute to services that are fundamental to the operation and stability of the Internet.

Strong Java expertise is an important foundation for this role, but we're not looking for someone who wants to stay within the boundaries of a single technology stack. We value engineers who are curious by nature, eager to learn new programming languages and technologies, and enthusiastic about expanding their skills. 🧠 In this role, you will:

• Be involved in defining pragmatic and maintainable technical solutions for challenging problems.

• Develop new features across both back-end and front-end, with a strong focus on Typescript and React.

• Demonstrate solid expertise in Java to support backend systems, ensuring robust, scalable, and high-performance implementations.

• Maintain and extend our existing services.

• Write, test, and deploy your code.

• Work with our DevOps engineers to maintain and improve our CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software.
