Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Test Engineer / TDD Quality Engineer to support software development and quality engineering activities within an Agile environment. The selected candidate will work closely with software engineers, systems engineers, information assurance engineers, test engineers, quality assurance professionals, and other project team members.

The candidate will help establish engineering standards and drive the adoption of Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD), automated testing, and Agile quality practices within the organization''s Agile framework. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in web-based application development and automated testing, along with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers, system engineers, information assurance engineers, test engineers, QA teams, and project stakeholders.
• Establish software testing standards, quality practices, and engineering guidelines.
• Promote and support the adoption of Test Driven Development (TDD) across Agile development teams.
• Help ensure appropriate engineering rigor is applied to software development, testing, and assigned technical tasks.
• Develop and maintain automated testing strategies for web-based applications.
• Implement automated testing using tools and technologies such as Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin, and BDD frameworks.
• Work within Scrum, SAFe, XP, or other Agile development methodologies.
• Collaborate with development teams to define acceptance criteria, test cases, and automated test scenarios.
• Support continuous integration, continuous quality, and DevOps practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support software configuration management using Git and GitHub.
• Develop and maintain build scripts using Maven, Ant, Gradle, or similar tools.
• Support software quality and code analysis using tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, FishEye, Crucible, and JUnit.
• Assist with security scanning and vulnerability identification using tools such as HP Fortify and HP WebInspect.
• Support web services and API testing for REST and SOAP-based services.
• Collaborate with teams developing and deploying applications in AWS and other cloud environments.
• Support web server configuration and deployment using JBoss, WildFly, Tomcat, or similar platforms.
• Work with databases including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, SQLite, and Oracle.
• Contribute to technical documentation, testing standards, development processes, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Experience working with web-based technologies including:
• HTML
• CSS
• JavaScript
• Experience working in Scrum or Agile development environments, including SAFe, XP, or similar methodologies.
• Experience with UI and software development frameworks such as:
• AngularJS
• Ionic
• GWT / SmartGWT
• Qt
• React
• Node.js
• Experience with automated testing tools and concepts, including:
• Selenium
• Cucumber
• Gherkin
• BDD
• Hands-on experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
• DoD 8570-approved security certification, such as Security+, required within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with REST, SOAP, AWS, and web services architectures.
• Experience with software configuration management tools such as Git and GitHub.
