About the Role

This role will be performed from our Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence based in Perth, supported by the latest technology to engage with our sites around Australia and the globe.

Specialist M1 (Asset Health Developer) is responsible for enabling and uplifting the effectiveness of M1 Controllers through structured problem solving, continuous improvement, and system integration.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Development of predictive Asset Health models within enterprise applications.
  • Monitor, evaluate and optimise the effectiveness of predictive Asset Health models.
  • Establish understanding of failure modes, monitorable symptoms and rectifying actions for key mining and fixed plant equipment.
  • Support delivery of the Asset Health program of work to scale and deploy the predictive models.
  • Collaborate with teams at our operations as well as other central groups to identify and develop high value asset health monitoring opportunities.
  • Identifying and communicating the direct business value of alerts to a range of stakeholders.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or Data Science field (must have)
  • A collaborative problem-solving mindset with a passion for tackling complex maintenance challenges using data-driven insights. (must have)
  • Demonstrated experience with reliability engineering processes in asset-intensive industries. (must have)
  • Proficiency in statistical and machine learning techniques for predictive modelling of equipment health and failure risk. (must have)
  • Programming experience in processing and analysing time-series data, including feature engineering for predictive models. (must have)
  • Hands-on experience developing solutions with Python and SQL (must have)
  • Familiarity with enterprise time-series data historians (e.g., AVEVA PI), cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) and for model deployment and data integration. (must have)
  • Technical knowledge of OEM systems, Process Control Networks (PCN) and SCADA system (nice to have)
  • Strong understanding of reliability methods such as Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). (nice to have)
