System Tester

Responsibilities:

• Assess requirements and develop test procedures for assigned Scrum Team’s software products
• Provide real-time documentation of critical thinking/test methodology to ensure a valid test is performed to meet requirement specifications
• Test and validate Gun Computer System (GCS) Mark (MK) 160 Gun Weapons System (GWS) developer builds, progressing from iterative development builds to the final production build
• Collaborate with Software Engineers in an Agile environment to support the development of high-quality software artifacts

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active Secret Security Clearance
• Must have a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, technical discipline or equivalent experience, such as direct hands-on experience with a particular system application
• Three (3) years of experience testing a software intensive DoD weapon system; Experience developing testing strategies and detailed test procedures, based on system requirements, as well as test execution
• Proven problem solving, written and oral communication skills and the ability to:
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Work in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environment
  • Work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel
  • Work with others to meet established goals and program scheduled
  • The ability to create and perform both manual and automated testing
• Experience and knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience working in any of the Linux and Unix environments
• Experience with any of the following: C, C++, Java, Ada programming language
• Experience supporting Department of Defense (or related) programs
• Experience with the DoD acquisition lifecycle
