Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Department Manager to lead and develop a highly skilled engineering team delivering enterprise IT Services and solutions.
This is a leadership role combining technical expertise, operational excellence, and people management. You will oversee the planning and successful delivery of customer projects, ensure high-quality technical services, support business growth, and continuously improve the department's performance and capabilities.
The ideal candidate has a strong infrastructure background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for building high-performing technical teams.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of Engineers.
• Allocate technical resources according to project priorities and customer requirements.
• Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and career development planning.
• Foster a collaborative, customer-oriented, and high-performance culture.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop new technical talent.
Project & Service Delivery
• Oversee the successful delivery of IT projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to quality standards.
• Coordinate project activities between engineering, sales, management, vendors, and customers.
• Monitor technical KPIs, project progress, resource utilization, and customer satisfaction.
• Support escalation management for complex technical issues.
Technical Leadership
• Guide solution design and technical architecture for enterprise environments.
• Review technical proposals, implementation plans, and engineering deliverables.
• Promote best practices across enterprise technology platforms, infrastructure services, operational resilience and information security.
• Drive continuous improvement of operational processes and technical standards.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and evaluate opportunities to enhance the company's service portfolio.
Business Collaboration
• Work closely with the Sales team during presales activities and technical presentations.
• Participate in customer meetings and provide technical leadership for strategic accounts.
• Build strong relationships with technology partners and vendors.
• Contribute to business planning, departmental budgeting, and strategic initiatives.
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Enterprise IT Infrastructure (Systems, Networking, Security).
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing technical teams.
- Proven experience delivering complex enterprise infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing customer-facing engineering organizations.
- Knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure and datacenter technologies.
- Understanding of identity, access management, and authentication solutions.
- Experience with virtualization platforms and cloud-based environments.
- Familiarity with cloud services, digital workplace, and productivity platforms.
- Understanding of enterprise networking technologies and architectures.
- Knowledge of data storage, backup, and recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity technologies, security frameworks, and risk management practices.
- Understanding of high availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery architectures.
- Excellent people management and mentoring skills.
- Strong planning, organization, and prioritization abilities.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and professionalism.
