In this role, you'll:
Play a key role in maintaining and ensuring the availability of critical Operational Technology systems. These systems include Cable Networks, Power Supplies, Radio Systems, Data & Voice Systems, Condition Monitoring Systems, and Passenger Information Systems. You’ll be responsible for incident response, maintenance, and troubleshooting to keep Sydney Trains rail network safe and running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:
Install, commission, maintain, and rectify faults in train running and rail safety-critical systems, including Operational Technology assets.
Implement Operational Technology solutions for customers as delegated, ensuring a customer-focused approach.
Maintain accurate records of service changes and ensure change management processes are followed.
Participate in skill development programs to stay current with technologies and support effective incident response.
Support troubleshooting of critical systems such as CCTV, PA systems, Opal readers, train control systems, and radio networks.

This is a Fixed term full time on site role based in Erskineville for up to 12 months which will require travel across the network as well as availability for on-call duties.

About you

You’re a hands-on, safety focused, proactive individual who can work with live systems and communicate effectively with clients, engineers and stakeholders.

You have practical experience with field installations and maintenance of communications, CCTV, audio-visual equipment, or similar technical systems. As well as an in-depth technical understanding with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in live systems.

You hold a current and valid Cable Licence and ideally Certificate IV in Telecommunications.

You may have experience in a technical role working on telecommunications, fibre optic systems, or signal communication cables. You may also have a basic understanding of IP addressing and networking, but this isn’t essential.
