About the role
Position Summary
AMCI is seeking a technically curious, customer-focused individual to join our Engineering team as a Technical Support & Technical Writer. In this hybrid role, you'll provide technical support for our industrial automation products while creating the documentation that helps customers successfully integrate and use them. You'll work closely with customers, distributors, and our engineering team, gaining expertise in PLCs, motion control, industrial networking, and automation technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support via phone and email, assisting customers with product installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and application issues involving AMCI products.
- Develop expertise with PLC platforms, including Rockwell Automation and Siemens.
- Create sample PLC programs and assist customers in debugging their applications.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Applications Engineers on customer solutions and new product development.
- Write and maintain product manuals, application notes, FAQs, and other technical documentation.
- Create technical illustrations, wiring diagrams, and simplified 3D product models for customer use.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Technical Communications, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in technical support, industrial automation, controls, or technical writing preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with PLCs, motion control, or industrial automation is a plus.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
