Pay Range: $65 - $70/hour ($110 - $125/hour bill rate)

About The Opportunity

Our client, a leader in Cloud Platform Engineering, is looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join their team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves managing and optimizing technical documentation for complex cloud infrastructure and developer platforms. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running, collaborate with engineering stakeholders, and deliver high-quality, user-friendly documentation to support developer and platform engineering audiences.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

This role is focused on the successful completion of technical documentation and content governance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Writing, editing, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation, including API reference guides, integration manuals, developer guides, operational runbooks, and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Designing and maintaining information architecture, taxonomy, and content organization for technical documentation to ensure usability and discoverability.
  • Developing and reviewing technical examples related to PostgreSQL, APIs, Terraform, Microsoft Azure, and cloud infrastructure in partnership with engineers.
  • Validating technical accuracy through hands-on testing of API calls, infrastructure configurations, and deployment procedures.
  • Establishing and maintaining documentation standards, style guides, templates, and content governance practices to ensure scalability and consistency.

Required Skills & Experience:

We Are Looking For Someone With a Proven Track Record Of Success In Highly Technical, Engineering-focused Environments. The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Extensive experience documenting APIs, developer tools, and technical platforms, with a strong foundation in software development and engineering principles.
  • Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure, cloud architecture, IaaS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in documentation platforms such as Confluence and GitHub; experience with CMS, CCMS, and DITA XML environments is preferred.
  • Exceptional information architecture skills and the ability to manage content for technical audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management and interviewing skills, with the ability to efficiently gather information from technical SMEs with limited availability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive documentation efforts with minimal oversight.
