Technical Writer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Lead the development, organization, and editing of technical documentation for a command and control program.

• Produce high-quality, accurate, and clear content adhering to defense standards and user needs.

• Collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to translate complex technical information.

• Develop new technical documentation, manuals, guides, procedures, and reports.

• Edit, standardize, and revise material prepared by others.

What You'll Need

• MA/MS/MBA in Technical Writing, English, Journalism, Creative Writing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 10+ years of experience as a technical writer in a government defense environment.

• Experience developing technical manuals, engineering documentation, and procedural guides.

• Strong writing, editing, and document structuring capabilities.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering data.

• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and version control skills.
