Technical Writer III

Vista Innovative Solutions is seeking a Technical Writer to add to our Information Technology Support Services team in support of the Army Sustainment Command (ASC) at the Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, Illinois.

Responsibilities Include:

• Works closely with business application stakeholder(s) to define and document requirements
• Creates and builds out user assistance infrastructure, including how-to sections, FAQs, and Help sections
• Writes about technical subjects for technical and nontechnical audiences
• Test and updates existing documentation

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Skill in working independently, multitasking, prioritizing projects, and meeting deadlines.
• Skill in using analytical and research skills in performance of job duties.
• Demonstrate high-end customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.
• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Self-motivated to learn, troubleshoot, and complete projects.
• Skill in software testing, developing end user acceptance plans & delivering guidance for end user testing
• Preferred 2+ years’ experience

Physical Requirements

• Predominantly indoors in normal office environment
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and reach
• Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English
• May require frequent computer use for several hours at a time
• Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
• Must have visual acuity
