Tier 2 Field Support Technician

You're the person we send when it has to happen onsite — and it has to happen right.

You've been in the field for an MSP. You know the rhythm: workstation deployments in the morning, a network issue nobody could crack remotely in the afternoon, and a rack that needs to be cleaned up before you leave. You like being in motion, you like seeing the environments you work in, and you take pride in leaving a site better than you found it.

We're SPN Networks. We've been doing this for 24 years in Southern California, and we're not a body shop. We're an 11-person MSP serving clients in construction, apparel, beauty, and logistics. Real environments. Real networks. Not password resets all day.

We're hiring a Field Service Engineer II — our onsite technical presence across the L.A. and Orange County area. You're the hands and eyes in the field: deploying, troubleshooting, racking, and being the remote hands our engineers rely on. You'll report directly to our founder/CEO.

Where you'll work

Client sites across Santa Fe Springs, downtown L.A., Orange County, and Laguna Beach — mostly greater L.A. and O.C. We provide a company vehicle, so an excellent driving record and a valid driver's license are required, not optional.

What you'll actually do

• Deploy and configure workstations
• Troubleshoot network issues onsite — the ones that can't be solved remotely
• Serve as remote hands for our engineers during projects and escalations
• Rack and stack equipment, and keep cabling clean and documented
• Assist with onsite projects and PC relocations
• Handle the fixes that require someone physically in the environment

What we need from you

Required:

• MSP or field-tech experience. You know why the ticket note matters as much as the fix.
• More than basic networking knowledge — you understand how networks actually work and can troubleshoot firewalls, VLANs, switching, and wireless, not just "restart the router."
• Solid skills across the Microsoft Office suite.
• Comfortable supporting both Windows and Mac environments.
• Ability to work independently onsite at a client with nobody holding your hand.
• Clean documentation habits. You write it down. Every time.
• Valid driver's license and an excellent driving record.

Nice to have:

• Network+, CompTIA certs, or equivalent scar tissue
• Prior experience in a co-managed environment
• Familiarity with our stack (IT Glue, Autotask)

Straight talk about this role

• Billable utilization target is 80%. We're telling you up front because we'd rather you know now than find out in month three. If that number scares you, this isn't your seat.
• This is a fully onsite + field role. You'll be in the company vehicle driving to client sites regularly — if you want to sit at one desk all day, this isn't it.
• There is an on-call rotation. We're saying it out loud instead of dropping it on you in week two.
• We run on EOS. You'll have clear scorecard metrics and you'll know where you stand.
• We're a small team. There's nowhere to hide — but there's also nobody in your way.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
