About the Role

Banyan Construction Services is looking for a Traveling Commercial Superintendent who can take ownership of jobsite execution from mobilization through punchout. This person will coordinate subcontractors, drive schedule, manage daily communication, uphold safety and quality standards, and represent Banyan professionally with owners, clients, subcontractors, and project teams.

This is a travel-based superintendent position. Typical projects last approximately 3–6 months, and candidates must be comfortable being on the road for extended periods of time. Banyan pays for lodging and travel costs in addition to base salary, benefits, per diem, and truck allowance.

Our projects are commercial construction projects, with a strong focus on retail tenant improvement work for established franchise clients such as Sola Salons, Woodhouse Spa, Hounds Town Pet Boarding, Jinya Ramen, and others. We are looking for superintendents with experience managing commercial jobsites, not just residential construction experience.

The right candidate is organized, steady under pressure, strong with documentation, and comfortable traveling to commercial project sites for extended project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of commercial construction projects from site mobilization through completion
• Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors
• Manage jobsite schedules, project progress, and resource coordination
• Coordinate material and equipment deliveries with vendors and suppliers
• Interface professionally with inspectors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, city/county officials, clients, and Banyan team members
• Maintain daily job logs and provide accurate updates to management
• Maintain high standards of workmanship in accordance with plans, specifications, and client expectations
• Promote and maintain a safe jobsite for all project participants
• Conduct regular jobsite meetings, including safety meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, client meetings, and company progress meetings as needed
• Review drawings and project documents for accuracy, constructability, conflicts, errors, or omissions
• Identify and communicate solutions that improve project outcomes, solve problems, or add value
• Communicate project details clearly, including documentation, receipts, task lists, schedules, and other required reporting
• Uphold and represent Banyan’s standards for ethics, integrity, professionalism, and core values

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Commercial construction superintendent experience required
• Experience with interior finish work and/or tenant improvement construction strongly preferred
• Ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, quality, safety, and jobsite communication
• Basic knowledge of commercial construction practices, including blueprint reading
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain professionalism with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members
• Highly self-motivated with a strong drive to succeed and serve both internal and external customers
• Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage priorities, and pay close attention to project details
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
• Basic computer and smartphone skills required
• Familiarity with construction management software preferred; Procore experience is a plus
• Must be willing and able to travel for extended project assignments
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must have reliable transportation suitable for jobsite use and occasional material transport; truck allowance is provided
• Must maintain CPR, First Aid, and OSHA training as required by Banyan

Pay: $89,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
