We are seeking a strong UX Researcher & Designer to support our USAF customer. The UX Designer/Researcher for the ARES production program owns the human-centered design cycle for their assigned capability areas and user community. This is a research-weighted UX role with responsibility of building deep relationships with a defined set of operational users, validating designs before implementation, and producing the interaction quality that drives usability and task completion performance requirements.
Position Description (what you will do)
UX research and design activities across the full government program lifecycle
Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research with federal government users/stakeholders
Design and prototype user interfaces compliant with Section 508 and USWDS standards
Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and pattern libraries
Serve as UX advocate in Agile delivery teams, collaborating with developers and PMs
Present UX strategy and findings to government stakeholders and program leadership
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in UX, HCI, Design, or a related field
Eligible to obtain Public Trust
5+ years of UX/CX experience for enterprise software
Demonstrated experience facilitating structured user research sessions with operational stakeholders
Demonstrated experience designing for DoD or federal government operational users; understanding of mission-critical workflow constraints and Government IT environment limitations
Proficiency with Figma or equivalent prototyping tooling; ability to produce design artifacts at sprint cadence
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with Salesforce and in-app guidance tooling
Experience conducting user research with DAF aircrew
CX or UX certification
Master's degree in UX, HCI, or a related field
Active U.S. Government security clearance (Secret or TS/SCI)
