As a Design Intern on our Global Design team, you will help shape user-centered experiences for medical devices that support healthcare professionals and patients around the world. Your Role at Baxter

As a Design Intern, you will support the development of new product concepts and enhancements across Baxter's medical device portfolio. Working alongside designers, engineers, marketing professionals, and researchers, you will contribute to user interface design, concept visualization, product labeling, and design communications throughout the product development process.

Your Team

You will be part of Baxter's Global Design team based in Batesville, Indiana. The team works closely with New Product Development, Sustaining Engineering, Marketing, and Market Research to create solutions that improve the user experience and support Baxter's mission of saving and sustaining lives.

What You'll Do

  • Support the design and development of user interfaces for medical devices across Baxter's product portfolio.
  • Create graphics, icons, illustrations, and visual assets for user interfaces and product labeling.
  • Develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and concept visualizations to communicate design solutions.
  • Partner with engineering, marketing, market research, and product development teams to understand project requirements.
  • Apply human-centered design and usability principles to translate user needs into interface concepts.
  • Create presentation materials and design demonstrations to communicate concepts and recommendations.
  • Participate in concept development activities for new products and enhancements to existing products.
  • Support design documentation and deliverables throughout the product development process.

What You'll Bring

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Visual Communication (Graphic Design), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience (UX) Design, or a related field.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of human-centered design, usability, or human-computer interaction principles.
  • Experience creating visual design assets, mockups, wireframes, or prototypes.
  • Portfolio demonstrating graphic design, UI/UX design, product design, or related project work.
  • Ability to complete work with or without reasonable accommodations.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a hourly pay range of $21 - $25 . The pay rate is based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
