About the role

About Us

Leverage Marketing is an independent, woman-owned, full-service digital marketing agency in West Michigan. We specialize in branding, web development, consulting, social media support, and content creation.

We work best with established businesses whose values match our own and clients who treat us as a true extension of their team. Our agency is built on strong relationships, thoughtful strategy, and collaboration. We offer a flexible, hybrid work environment and value a culture where people are trusted to do great work.

About the Role

We’re looking for a strong, efficient, detail-oriented, and resourceful Web Designer to support the design and build of websites across our growing client portfolio.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves the creative side of web design and enjoys bringing brands to life through clean, intuitive, responsive websites.

You’ll primarily focus on WordPress site design and builds, while also supporting ongoing website updates and light troubleshooting. You don’t need to be a full developer—but you do need to be comfortable figuring things out, communicating clearly, and taking ownership of your work.

The right person for this role is a designer first, with enough technical confidence to navigate common website issues and keep projects moving forward. You’ll train closely with our Web Development & Art Manager and broader creative team.

This role is ideal for someone looking to grow in an agency environment.

What You'll Do

Site Design & Builds

  • Design and build custom WordPress websites using Elementor
  • Translate client goals and brand direction into clean, intuitive, responsive web experiences
  • Support the full site build lifecycle from initial setup through launch
  • Implement responsive design across desktop, tablet, and mobile
  • Maintain design consistency and quality standards across all client sites

Website Maintenance & Support

  • Perform content updates, layout adjustments, and enhancements across client websites
  • Troubleshoot common issues (plugins, forms, display inconsistencies, etc.)
  • Assist with performance improvements and general site upkeep
  • Collaborate with team members on more complex technical issues when needed

Hosting & Technical Coordination

  • Handle site launches and hosting setup (training provided)
  • Support basic tasks related to domains, DNS, SSL, and integrations
  • Troubleshoot hosting or caching issues, escalating when appropriate

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the marketing and creative team on client projects
  • Communicate clearly about timelines, blockers, and project status
  • Manage and prioritize incoming web requests across multiple clients

What We're Looking For

Must Haves

  • 2+ years of experience designing and building WordPress websites
  • Hands-on experience with Elementor
  • Strong visual design instincts (layout, typography, attention to detail)
  • Basic working knowledge of HTML & CSS for troubleshooting
  • Resourceful and proactive—comfortable researching and solving problems
  • Clear communicator who follows through and takes ownership
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Portfolio of work

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with hosting environments
  • WooCommerce experience
  • Familiarity with DNS and domain configuration
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Basic understanding of SEO best practices
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager
  • Experience with Asana or similar project management tools
  • Agency experience

What We'll Train You On

  • Our hosting environment and site launch process
  • Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager implementation
  • Internal workflows, project management systems, and client communication processes
  • Agency-specific tools and processes

What Success Looks Like

You take pride in creating clean, well-designed websites that function as beautifully as they look. You manage your workload effectively, communicate proactively, and bring solutions to the table, not just problems.

You’re someone who notices when something is off and takes initiative to fix it, while continuing to grow your skills and confidence over time. You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced agency environment where priorities can shift and no two days look the same.

We value flexibility, accountability, and a supportive team environment. This is a role where you’ll be trusted, challenged, and given room to grow.
