About the role

The LATAM Finance Controller role requires a highly senior professional capable of combining leadership behaviors with strong technical expertise. The position demands the ability to manage third parties, prioritize competing demands, and make well-balanced decisions considering risks and benefits.

However, this is fundamentally a hands-on role. The successful candidate is not expected to operate solely through delegation, but rather to demonstrate technical depth, resilience, and autonomy in directly solving complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee local accounting, including coordination with the external accounting firm;
  • Support audits and liaise with internal teams to ensure compliance;
  • Manage US GAAP accounting through Oracle, ensuring proper translation of local books;
  • Understand budget assumptions and explain variances between actuals and forecasts;
  • Monitor tax compliance in coordination with the global Tax team;
  • Review intercompany agreements and transfer pricing policies;
  • Identify tax optimization opportunities (credits recovery and structural efficiencies);
  • Control Marketing budget and conduct periodic reviews with local teams;
  • Manage vendors, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and maintaining clear communication regarding payment timelines and cycles, particularly with marketing agencies and affiliates;
  • Manage treasury activities, including cash management, low-risk investments, and relationships with payment service providers (PSPs), optimizing liquidity and seeking more efficient and cost-effective solutions;
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory financial obligations and internal compliance requirements.
  • Strong technical expertise in accounting, tax, and finance;
  • Self-awareness regarding technical gaps, with a proactive and continuous learning mindset, particularly within a new and evolving regulatory environment;
  • Analytical profile with a strong focus on root cause identification and problem-solving;
  • High degree of autonomy, ownership, and accountability;
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution;
  • Willingness to develop a solid understanding of the betting and sports industries, enabling interpretation of financial data within its broader business context and the proposal of conceptually sound solutions;
  • Fluent English;
  • Comfortable working in a Windows and Microsoft-based environment (macOS will not be provided).

And outside of this, you’ll have the chance to turn recognition from leaders and colleagues into amazing prizes, join a winning team of talented people and be a part of an inclusive and supporting community where everyone is celebrated for being themselves.
