About the role
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production. This role bridges engineering design and production by optimizing workflows, tooling, equipment, and documentation while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production documentation.
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing layouts to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) from design through full-rate production.
- Analyze production performance and implement cost, yield, cycle time, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability (DFM/DFA).
- Troubleshoot production issues and drive root cause and corrective action (RCCA)
- Establish and maintain process control plans, PFMEAs, and standard work.
- Support capital equipment selection, installation, and qualification.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety policies.
- Maintain a strong shop-floor presence to provide hands-on support and rapid response to production initiatives.
- Maintain professionalism with respectful communication, ethical behavior, and a positive attitude.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Working Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, fabrication, automation, etc.)
- Experience with lean manufacturing, six sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with engineering drawings, GD&T, and process documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Exposure to HVAC manufacturing.
- Experience with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.
- CNC, automation, robotics, or equipment programming experience.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing production floor environment.
- Collaboration with production floor personnel, design, and leadership.
