Pocket Sergeant is one of the UK’s leading operational policing apps, used by over 21,000 police officers and staff across the UK.

We’re entering an exciting new phase of growth. A completely redesigned app is about to launch.

Our ambition is simple: become the most recognised digital brand in UK policing.

To help us achieve that, we’re looking for someone who lives and breathes content, audience growth and digital marketing.

The Role

This isn’t a traditional social media role.

We’re looking for someone who can build an audience, grow subscribers and turn Pocket Sergeant into the dominant policing brand across every major social platform.

You’ll own our content strategy from idea through to publication and analysis.

You’ll work closely with our founder and platform manager to turn operational policing knowledge into engaging content that reaches hundreds of thousands of officers every month.

What You’ll Do

Content Creation

• Produce engaging daily content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok and YouTube.
• Film and edit high-quality short-form videos and reels.
• Produce longer-form YouTube explainers and educational content.
• Repurpose content efficiently across multiple platforms.
• Develop compelling graphics, carousels and animations.

Growth

• Increase app downloads and paid subscriptions.
• Grow our social media audiences.
• Improve App Store conversion rates.
• Develop email marketing campaigns.
• Build referral and ambassador programmes.
• Create campaigns around product launches and major policing news.

Video

Create regular video content including:

• Law explainers
• Operational policing tips
• Promotion Academy content
• Product demonstrations
• Customer success stories
• Founder interviews
• Podcasts and behind-the-scenes content

Community

• Manage and engage with our growing online communities.
• Respond to comments and messages.
• Encourage reviews and user-generated content.
• Build relationships with influencers and policing organisations.

Analytics

Own reporting across all channels including:

• Subscriber growth
• Download performance
• Video performance
• Engagement
• Retention
• Website traffic
• Campaign effectiveness

You’ll continually test, learn and improve.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Proven experience growing social media audiences.
• Excellent copywriting skills.
• Strong video filming and editing ability.
• Experience creating viral short-form content.
• Excellent understanding of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and X.
• Experience using AI tools to increase content production.
• Ability to analyse data and improve performance.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Desirable:

• Experience in SaaS or subscription businesses.
• Experience growing mobile apps.
• Knowledge of App Store Optimisation (ASO).
• Podcast production experience.
• Photography and motion graphics skills.
• Knowledge of UK policing or emergency services.
